JAFFA!

Jon and I have wanted a dog for years and decided that now was the right time to get one!  We’re so excited to have him and get used to him being part of our family.  We  talked about tons of names for him and decided on “Jaffa” because we think it’s fun to say and it reminds us of our time in Israel. 🙂 Jaffa is a Morkie, half yorkie/half maltese.  There is some white showing up underneath his black fur, so he may turn more silver colored the older he gets.  Anyway, besides today, we promise not to post pics as though he is our child! haha.

Those of you in town, drop by for a visit and to meet our new pup!

I’ll leave you with a few pics from a couple hours after we picked him up this morning!

p.s. he was born on my bday, Dec 22nd!

We are so thankful!  Having unpacked about half of our boxes is already giving us a sense of relief and excitement for living, working and chillin’ in our new home!  We’ve been praying for it to be a place of peace, rest, life and love.

We want to give another big shout out to our friend and contractor, Eric Dill.  He really is the best at what he does, and we are so grateful for his expertise and hours spent caring for our big house project.  We love you, man! (aww, cheesy sigh)

You can see some “before” pictures here and here.

Here are a few pics of the “after” that I snapped before we moved boxes in on Thursday:

The front of the house will be landscaped soon, and it’s looking even more different with things in it.  We are glad that mom is coming in tonight to help us unpack, put up some storage and tile our backsplash. 🙂

Come over for some tea and coffee soon!

my daddy and brother are a treasure in my life.  both of them are distinct and unique in their own right, and I can’t imagine life without them.

i’ve recently been thinking lots about them because of a few photos that daddy sent me.  dad does not have many photos from his high school and 20-something years, so when i saw these for the first time it was almost like a weird time warp of “wow, dad was young and hip and normal,” haha!  i know it sounds silly, but you know, with your own parents it’s hard think of them before you existed!

i’ve always thought my brother favored my mom’s looks and I was a little in between them both, but when I saw this one particular picture it shocked me.  it was so neat to see how much Morgan looks like dad (Harper)!  i know it sounds cheesy, but i get those little butterflies in my stomach and a well of joy within me seeing father and son.

so, anyway, just some random thoughts and fun pictures…

Love you Dad and Morgan!

wow, such a delay on the blogging front.   our posts will certainly be fewer and further between, but i will try to keep up!  keeping up with all the FocalPoint stuff (blog, mktg, events) takes enough time alone.   on that front, if you’re not already, become a fan at our new facebook page today! 🙂

thankfully we’ve been busy this may/june/july with weddings most weekends…  it’s keeping us on our toes!  we’re house sitting this month and staying with friends for the next couple months.  we’re in the process of bidding on a house here in town and will update more if that goes through!  excited and have been really praying through the whole process… we want to be where the Lord wants us to be!!

details and progress with Son Valley Ranch is going well and look forward to post more about that soon!  jon and i will be working on a website and video to go along with a new logo that is coming soon.

mom (Bev) is coming in town today… yippee!!! she’s going to help us out with some sewing for a bridal show exhibit we have this sunday… and help with setting up b/c we’ve got a wedding Satuday afternoon as well.  hopefully we’ll have some time to play as well, but look forward to having her here either way!

okay, enough of the random statements about what’s going on.  off to work!

happy wednesday,
kelsey

We’ve had a wonderful time hanging with our families and friends here in TX & LA!  We’ve also put on about 10lbs eating all the local yummy foods that we love… uncle julios, sushi, danken trail, johnny’s pizza and crawfish, just to name a few…. ha, you can’t tell we missed the good TX/LA foods! 😉

I have been lazy and bad about taking pics here at home, but we did acquire some new gear for FP and snapped a few photos of Sawyer & Jax last week.  It was rainy the entire time we were there, but one day we decided to go out with the grey skies anyway and stopped at a wheat field on the side of a highway for about 15 minutes one afternoon.  Uncle Jon had fun trying to entertain them and let them chase him around the field.  Props to Justin for the great editing!

We also shot a LoveStory video with our friends John & Erin here in LA.  Their June 13th wedding is coming up soon and we were excited to be able to capture their thoughts and feelings about each other right now!  Here is a photo from the shoot…. will post a link to the video on the FocalPoint blog as soon as it is up.
