“ICEJ Aid has partnered with the Israeli charity L’Chaim (To Life) that cares for a number of survivors in the Galilee, Golan and coastal region, helping to cover their medications, food, house repairs, and other needs. This arrangement now allows Christians the opportunity to “adopt” a Holocaust survivor. The elderly survivors are also offered companionship through in-home visits by young Israeli volunteers from local schools.”

Jon and I had the privilege to visit with several of the wonderful elderly people that are impacted greatly by this program.   Take a minute to check out this short video we made about the adoption program…

I knew that would get your attention! 🙂 Don’t worry we are fine.

Anyway…as most of you know, Kelsey and I are huge fans of LOST and we have not given up on this twisting saga. So much so that we decided to throw a LOST Party on Saturday night and we watched our favorite show with an international delegation from Africa, Switzerland and coming late were the Brits. What a delight to share in this most momentous ocassion. Here is video to commemorate.

Those who stayed to play a hefty game of Nertz until 1:30 AM!  ahhhh…

late night

thought i would post a few of the things i’ve worked on recently as part of my job here.  learning a ton and enjoying working with graphics!

we also work on monthly magazines, everyday forms, letters and graphics for various projects.  many of the publications also have to be translated into different languages… german, french, finnish, etc… we swap and format text for those too.

holla!
kels

i don’t know…  you tell me and then we’ll both know.  🙂

So, hello!   Happy New Year!

we had a wonderful Christmas and were blessed with some fun cards and care packages.  Thank you!!

our blogging lull has been caused by several factors:

1.  the internet signal we were borrowing at home (hey, if you don’t lock the signal, it must be fare game… right?) is no longer available… so, working on having ours up and running next week.

2.  we were out of town for a while.  we had to leave the country in order to renew our visa… as part of that time away, we were able to stay with and visit two different couples who live in Swtizerland (Marco & Miriam Koch / Matthias, Susanna & Lysanne Guggisberg).   their families were so hospitable and welcomed us warmly.   we couldn’t have planned it better and it snowed like 6 inches the night we arrived!   it is amazingly beautiful there and we had a blast!  (just trying to get over the chest cold now. yuck)

Here are a few pics… nature, swiss games, swiss chocolate, etc.

Israel – Gaza

Several people have asked… so we wanted to at least state in a sentence that we’re doing fine here in Jerusalem.   Thank you for your concern.  Speaking of concern, please lift up prayers for this Israeli/Palestinian conflict when you hear or  think about it.  For a general overview and good commentary on the subject, check out this article written by Malcolm.  We have personally been to Sderot twice (here is where i wrote about prior to this particular conflict) and know that no one should have to live with the constant threat and terror that they do.

Also, for a very interesting and amazing story, check out the video/articles regarding Mossab Hassan, a former Hamas member and son of one of its founders.   It helps give you a glimpse that this is not merely a political war and the truth that there will never be lasting peace with Islam.  We do believe that God’s Covenant and love for His people still stands and He will preserve Her.

will try to keep updated…

much love from J & K,

kelsey
